OUR TRIP TO GHANA, AFRICA!
From March 3 to March 17, 2009, the Home Base After School students journied to, explored, and experienced Ghana. Click HERE to see photos of our journey!
Day 1 to 2: As an introduction to our journey, we will spend a day In Amsterdam enjoying a city tour.
Day 3: Arrive in Accra, Ghana. (Accra is Ghana's largest city.)
Day 4: Visit St. Mary’s Secondary School in Accra and attend school with African students.
Day 5: Take an Accra city tour. Explore the University of Ghana in the afternoon. Attend a special Welcome dinner in our honor.
Day 6: Attend Sunday Morning Church Service.
Day 7: Spend all day visiting Kumasi Orphanage School (Kumasi is the second largest city in Ghana).
Day 8: Drive to Sunyani Bong Ahafo. Visit Kintampo Falls and Boabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary.
Day 9: Spend all day at Mount Horeb Community Orphanage.
Day 10: Visit the Asante Palace Museum. Visit high school in the afternoon.
Day 11: Tour of Kakum National Park. Visit Cape Coast School of the deaf in the afternoon.
Day 12: Tour of village in Stilts. Tour of Elmina Castle - Historical site of Slave Castles.
